WOMEN WORKING TOGETHER was started in September 2006 as an alternative source of COMMUNITY NETWORKING AND BUSINESS REFERRALS in South Palm Beach County, Florida. Several larger organizations exist(ed) in northern and central Palm Beach County, offering networking opportunities for business professionals. The mixers and networking opportunities were to far North to benefit many of the professionals in South County. We also identified an opportunity where women (and men) in business could create both professional referral resources and long lasting personal friendships.
The original group started as the South Palm Beach Business Council. The Business Council offered professionals in the Boynton Beach, Delray Beach, Boca Raton and Deerfield Beach georgraphical areas the opportunity to network with a group of professionals in similar markets. We also wanted to give something back to our COMMUNITY. Our challenge was how we would set ourselves apart from larger networking organizations. The donation of a portion of the ticket cost to a local not for profit agency the difference we found. The introduction of various agencies that support, women, children and families provides our participants unique opportunities for volunteering, education and networking!
WOMEN WORKING TOGETHER believes in collaboration and establishing quality referral resources. WOMEN WORKING TOGETHER does not limit participation at any mixer to one individual from a specific profession. Everyone is welcome! What a better way to learn about your competition, learn what other companies are offering your clients and establishing relationships with professionals that someday may become your employee or employer.
The first mixer held under the WOMEN WORKING TOGETHER name started with four (4) dedicated professionals; R. Penny Rodgers, Commercial Banking Relationship Manager for Citibank NA, Ami Zak, Owner of Unique Gifts & Premiums, Michelle Shields, VP of Clinical Development of Diagnostic Centers of America and Marlyn Wiener of The Law Office of Marlyn Wiener. More than 40 business professionals joined us at the first mixer in November 2006.
WOMEN WORKING TOGETHER has continued to grow in size and in providing participants quality networking and business referrals. We are doing business together! We have included several of our BUSINESS PARTNERS under the RESOURCE LINKS tab above. Yes, WOMEN WORKING TOGETHER is supported by great Women and Men. You can contact them through their email address or web connection. We are always looking to add other great partners so if you identify an indiviudal or business that fits a profile not shown please let us know about them. We will contact them and invite them to a mixer. We can add them to the Resource Links. An important referral is missing. YOU!
